The Podimetrics SmartMat™

Advanced Remote Monitoring for Foot Health
How It Works
The SmartMat is a clinically validated device with special sensors to measure foot temperature and supported by a virtual care team.
One Step,
20 Seconds a DaySimply step on the SmartMat at home, and it measures temperature data and sends it to the Podimetrics team to determine signs of inflammation, an early warning sign of complications.
Seamless
ConnectivityThe SmartMat is cellularly connected and automatically sends temperature data to Podimetrics for review, so there is no need for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth within the continental U.S.
Early Detection
& ActionOur virtual care support team continuously reviews SmartMat data and engages with users, enabling timely clinical intervention when potential concerns arise.

We Perfected What Science Started

The Science of Thermometry
Scanning with your SmartMat is like using a thermometer to see if you have a fever, but for the feet. Why? Warm feet may be a sign of early inflammation that might lead to a wound. This science-backed method is called thermometry, and it has been helping people with diabetes prevent serious issues since the 1970s.¹
A study showed that our SmartMat system can help identify early signs of ulcers on the bottom of the feet up to five weeks before they appear.²
Understanding Thermograms
Thermograms are like taking a picture of the heat coming from your foot. They help us see if there’s any extra warmth, which could mean there’s inflammation starting before a diabetic foot ulcer appears.

What is a Hot Spot?
We watch out for early signs of inflammation (warm areas on the foot) because this can happen before a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) develops.
Hot Spot Means an Early Warning
Sometimes, a foot might develop a hot spot known as inflammation before a DFU shows up. This means the body is reacting to damage in the skin tissue that could lead to a wound.
How We Detect Hot Spots
The SmartMat measures temperature differences on the bottom of the feet and sends this data to Podimetrics for review. If a significant temperature difference is detected, an alert is triggered, helping identify potential inflammation early.
